It was an early rise and over a 2 hour road trip to arrive before blue hour to get this wide shot of the landscape and stars. This beautiful tree line resides in rural Hyde County, North Carolina. The lake is on the inside of the famous OBX, Outer Banks of NC. Lake Mattamuskeet is the largest natural lake in the state and has some unique agricultural history. This beautiful intercoastal countryside is home to small fishing communities that seem to be untouched by time. Not the place for most, but a gem to those who appreciate it.

Edit: I consider this to be unique, or “Outside the Box” for a couple of reasons that comes down to technique. This single exposure landscape photo was shot at f/2.8 aperture allowing enough light with a shutter speed that does not show star trails. Ultra wide can be very forgiving with depth of field. But also time of day, just before blue hour to get the dawn twilight while allowing for the stars to be properly exposed. This is a take on photography I rarely see. For me this was an “Outside the Box” photo. But a technique I am starting to more adapt into my landscape work.

This photo is outstanding. Really beautiful and perfectly taken. Nonetheless, I wonder how does it match the contest theme "Outside the box". How in terms of composition or whatever technique you used is unusual, unique or out of the boundaries? I would certainly rate it four stars in your profile, but in this contest seems out of the topic.

I understand your point. But using a high aperture value is the most common technique in night photos to freeze stars. Depth of field can be attained by focusing on the hyperfocal distance.
I insist: I love your photo, I just dont think it fits the contest criteria. In any, case... who cares, right?
