I was inspired by a CGI image I had seen using an apple, so I wanted to see if I could achieve a similar result with an actual photograph. I managed one with cider and so tried this still life with wine and grapes. I used a bottle cutter to cut the bottle, then sealed the main bottle so it could contain liquid. I then refilled the bottle with wine and used real grapes in the bottle and the base with some cut in half to suggest the knife had cut open the bottle. I had no studio lights so used some small desk lamps with tiny one inch lamps and used snoots made from black cardboard to direct the lights. These were my first attempts at still life. This is an actual photograph and shows you can achieve good results with inexpensive equipment.
